Gibbs Consulting LLC, began offering services in 2018 operating under the name Gibbs Public Affairs. At the time, founder Monica Gibbs had spent several years offering freelance PR services to non profits, ministry related projects, and small businesses. It was through serving on boards that she saw the need for advocates in the local community as well as a bridge person between elected officials and the counties in which they represented. She also remained dedicated to helping businesses get media coverage. Registering to lobby in the state of North Carolina, she continued to contribute a column and articles to a local news publication, highlighting and marketing businesses.
In the fall of 2018, Gibbs relocated to Charlotte, NC where she signed a two year grant funded contract to work in the areas of maternal health, family planning education, and reproductive justice for the Mecklenburg County Department of Public Health. Aside from working political campaigns, this opportunity put the expansion and growth of Gibbs Public Affairs on hold until 2020.
With the onset of the Covid 19 pandemic and the completion of the DPH contract, Gibbs found herself in the perfect space to return to public affairs full time.
Since 2020, services have been provided to a number of campaigns and organizations but in early 2023, Gibbs shifted her focus from public affairs to consulting. Gibbs Consulting has built a network that encompasses community leaders and public servants from across the country. To date, Gibbs Consulting has helped to advocate for close to 200,000 in funding to rural organizations. Gibbs Consulting LLC is actively engaged in community affairs, philanthropy, and both local and national conferences.
Monica Gibbs is an award winning activist with a journalism background and over a decade of campaign consulting, legislative, and political campaign experience.
